Jakobe had his 4 month check up on Tuesday, May 27th. He weighs 13.9 pounds (25th percentile) and measured 23 3/4 inches ( 10th percentile). His head circumference is 15 1/2 inches. He again got 3 shots. 2 in one leg and 1 in the other. He cried this time when he got the shots. I felt horrible. The doctor said his ears looked good. They weren't red anymore and didn't have any discharge. Yeah! I'm supposed to continue with his medicine until it runs out. He was very very fussy the rest of the day. If I moved his legs wrong or accidentally bumped them he would cry. His legs were very sore. The doctor was impressed that he has now doubled his birth weight. I was warned to start to watch for teething. It can happen any time now. Fun Fun! He goes back in two months for his 6 month check up. I can't believe how fast he is growing! Crazy!

Jakobe has just 'found' his voice. He loves to squeal (very loudly I must add) loves to make gurgling sounds and loves to giggle. He is full of smiles now. Basically anything you say gets one of his adorable smiles out of him. He is into his tongue. He sticks it out all the time and plays with his lips with his tongue. He's really into his legs and feet. He loves to kick and move them all around. He's still chewing on his hands. Working on getting his entire fist in his mouth. He can only get about half of it in there right now. He's trying so hard to sit up. It is so cute to watch him. He loves to stand. He can stand for about up to a minute now. He is just growing so fast. It is so fun to watch him grow and mature each day. He is such a fun baby!
Jakobe has been fighting an ear infection for 2 weeks now. He was put on Amoxicillin. Tuesday night was our worst night ever. Jakobe was up the entire night just screaming and thrashing his arms and legs. We knew he was in pain and knew it was his ear because he was digging his face into the mattress. We were up the entire night with him. I already had a doctor appointment scheduled for the following morning at 9:40. Around 9:15 that morning all of a sudden he stopped crying. He was then very calm and content. It was very strange. The doctor took one look inside his ear and said that he had ruptured his ear drum. His ear was completely filled with goop. I felt absolutely horrible. She said that all of the pressure built up in his ear and it finally burst. That's why he was screaming all night. She said it is SO painful. Then when it burst he wasn't in any pain any more. I'm guessing that around 9:15 is when it ruptured because that's when he stopped crying. She cleaned out his ear and he was put on a different antibiotic. If his meds don't work this time they will put tubes in his ears. I asked her if this would affect his hearing. She said 99% of the time it does not. She said it was good I brought him in when I did because if this goes untreated it can have an effect on his hearing. She said he will have a hard time hearing for a while until a new ear drum grows back. He goes back on Tuesday for his 4 months check up and she's going to take a look at his ear then. He is doing better now. I can tell his ear is still bothering him but he's not screaming in agony. Poor guy. The pictures above are taken before we left for his doctors appointment. You can see by the expression on his face that he's hurting.
Stephanie from daycare. She is Jakobe's favorite! Stephanie and I are becoming good friends. We've stared to hang out outside of daycare.
Look everyone! I can hold my own bottle. This weekend we found out that Jakobe can hold his own bottle. Even though he only holds it for seconds at a time, he still holds it. It's so great!

So big!!!
My new hair!!! I'm no longer a blonde. I got my hair colored brown (my natural hair color) and got two different colors of highlights. I also got layers put it. I really like it. It's weird not being a blonde anymore. I have been blonde all my life. David really likes it. I think Jakobe likes it too although he hasn't told me yet. Maybe he's just trying to get used to it.
This is the pot that Jakobe made for me for Mother's Day. It says his name on it with glitter. The staff told me that he even put the dirt in the pot. They said he was making funny faces when he was playing with the soil. He did have help putting the flowers in. He also made a card that had his footprints that made up a flower with a very sweet poem written on the inside. Thanks for my beautiful flowers Jakobe!
