Vacation

We are leaving tomorrow (Saturday) for our family vacation. We are going to our Lake cabin in Wisconsin that we go to every year over the 4th of July. We are all really looking forward to a nice, relaxing week. It will be completely different this year with Jakobe. Last year he was about 5 months old. This year at 17 months, he'll be able to run around and do way more of the fun activities we have planned. We can't wait. Plus, it's our last vacation we have planned with just the 3 of us. Next year we will have baby Callie that will join us. I'll post pictures when we return. We will be gone 6/27/09 - 7/5/09 I also have to say that I can't wait to see my munchkin. He has been spending the last few days in Bettendorf with grandma and grandpa. He has been gone since Wednesday. Today is now Friday and David and I will be packing our car and heading to Bettendorf late this evening. I can't wait to see Jakobe! I miss him so much. Then tomorrow my mother-in-law is throwing me a baby shower. After the shower we will get on the road and head to Wisconsin to start our vacation!

Fun at the Water Park!

My mom and I took Jakobe to the Clive Aquatic Center on Saturday. It took him close to 15 minutes to get used to the water. When he finally was ready to play he had a blast. It was so much fun watching him run and play. He had a great time. It took him about 5 minutes to fall asleep once we got in the car. Touching the water........... Going after the water........

He Bit Me!

I'm not sure what Jakobe's deal was this morning but he has never bitten me or anyone else. I was filling out his daily sheet at daycare and he was tugging at my leg for me to pick him up. Once I was done I bent down and picked him up. He put his face on my shoulder and bit me........hard. I let out a yell and put him down. I squeezed his cheeks and said 'Do not bit me'! 'That is not nice Jakobe'! Of course he then threw himself down on the floor throwing a fit. I put his sippy cup in the fridge....he came over to me wanting me to pick him up. Oh boy he knew mommy was mad at him. I did not pick him up. I was still so mad that he had bit me. He has other ways of expressing his anger than to bite. That's what made me most upset. Anyways, I left daycare angry and in pain....and he was still crying. I called daycare a few hours later and Ashley said he was doing ok but was being a little naughty today. It must be the weather. Or the fact that Jakobe knows today is Ashley's last day at daycare as his teacher. She is pregnant and due tomorrow. It should make for an interesting evening at home tonight. The Long Hallway

We celebrated Grandma Ida's 95th birthday on Saturday evening. This is the long famous hallway. I, along with my cousins used to run up and down this hallway when we were little. Here is Jakobe and Lars doing the same. Oh the memories.

Get this off of me!

We went and watched daddy play softball. He is playing on a slow pitch team. He plays every Tuesday and Thursday. Daddy had a great game! Daddy is 5 for 5 with Jakobe at his games (we have been to 2 games so far) with 4 runs scored and 5 RBIs. Jakobe is definitely good luck for daddy. Every time daddy would get up to bat Jakobe would scream really loud. It was cute. I don't think he was cheering for him.....he was trying to get his attention but either way it was adorable.

His BIG Boy Room!

We painted Jakobe's new 'Big boy room' this weekend. His new room is currently his play room. We had to move all of his toys out so we could get ready to paint. Jakobe was so confused. Every time we would move a toy out of his play room we put it in his room. He would go in his room and bring the toy back into his play room. It was pretty cute. It will be his bed room/play room. Callie will get his current room. Anyways, we got the paint to match his new sports bedding. It will look really nice when it's all done. Here is Jakobe......painting his room.

The finished room.....well kind of. The wall is dry and I put up a valance to see what it looked like with the colors. We think it looks great!

We are thinking about switching rooms around the middle to end of July. Callie's crib arrives next weekend and her dresser and hutch won't be here until the first week of July which is when we will be on vacation. So we are thinking sometime in July.
