Ear Tubes

On Tuesday, May 5th, Jakobe is scheduled to have tubes put in his ears. Ear tubes are tiny cylinders placed through the ear drum to allow air into the middle ear. We are nervous and excited at the same time. Jakobe will be given a light anesthetic which makes us super nervous. Just the thought of my little one being 'put under' scares the hell out me. However, knowing that he will no longer have to suffer from his painful ear infections, restore his hearing loss (he was hearing 40% less), and improve his balance problems makes us feel much more comfortable about the surgery. The surgery should be a huge success and even though we are nervous it should make a huge difference in his life. He is getting short term tubes which typically stay in place for six months to a year before falling out on their own. I will be sure to keep you all posted as to how his surgery goes.

My Little Red Wagon!

This is fun! Jakobe went for a ride in his brand new red wagon. His Easter present from Grandma Jane and Grandpa Ken and Great-Grandma Farmor! Get this, it seats 2, has 4 cup holders, back rests and even has seat belts! What a cool wagon! We can't wait for walks to the park in this!

First Haircut!

Jakobe had his first haircut at 14 months old. We went to a cute place called Kiddles. Jakobe had no idea what was going on. They sat him in a high chair type of seat and gave him a toy to play with. He didn't fuss, jerk, or even move much during his haircut. He was very good. It took less than 10 minutes. His haircut turned out adorable and he now looks like a little man. We even bought some hair gel to put in his hair to style it. The girls are going to be after him!

14 Months Old!

Sorry I'm a little late getting this one posted. Here is what is going on with Jakobe now at 14 months. First of all. He will get his very first haircut this evening 4/2/09. Words that he can say now: Uh-Oh, dada, daddy, touchdown, hi, all done, and thank you. (Notice there is no mama in there. He used to say it but hasn't for months now. It makes me sad). He gives hugs, kisses, high fives, dances, bring you toys, waves bye-bye, can get off the couch on stomach feet first, can get into bath tub, his favorite foods are mac and cheese and ice cream. He still has 6 teeth. 4 on the top and 2 on the bottom. He throws fits and fusses when he wants something. He loves to climb on things. Just figured out how to push the button on his 4-wheeler. He weighs 18 lbs 14 oz and is 28 inches.

Baby You Can Drive My Car!

Jakobe has finally learned how to push the button on his 4-wheeler and make it go all by himself!!! He had done it only once before and I went and grabbed my camera. He seemed to enjoy it as much as I did!

His Friends.......and girlfriends

This is Ayla. She is 8 months old. Her birthday is in July. This is one of Jakobe's new girlfriends. She is so adorable. Her and Jakobe had so much fun playing together at my friend Medina's house. Look, she has her hand on Jakobe's leg. How cute!

Here is Brianna. Jakobe's first girlfriend. She is 13 months old and Jakobe is 14 months old.
