The Birthday Boy!!!

Jakobe had so much fun with his cake. I took a little video of him just getting started. Towards the end he had it all over. He was taking huge handfulls of the cake and shoving it in his mouth. To say the least.... I think he likes chocolate!

Jakobe's 1st Birthday Party!

Thank you so much to everyone who came and celebrated Jakobe's 1st birthday with us! It meant so much to have so many people there to share his big day! It was such a great party! We couldn't have asked for a better day! Thank you for all the wonderful cards and presents! Jakobe will be occupied for a long time now ;)

1 Year Professional Pictures!

He's 1!!! We still can't believe it! Where has our little 6 lbs 4 oz baby gone?!?! The past year has been an amazing experience! It has been so exciting watching Jakobe grow into the little man that he is. It's just shocking how fast he is growing up. Going from sitting up to crawling to now walking! It seems like it all just happened overnight. Jakobe is such an amazing, perfect, and precious little boy. He brings so much happiness and love into our lives. He is such a great little baby. We love him so much! A few new things this month: Jakobe weighs 18 lbs 5 oz and is 27 1/2 inches long at 1 year. Not quite to the 20 lbs that I hoped. I'm so ready to get him in a forward facing car seat!!! Jakobe started walking at 11 1/2 months! This was so exciting for all of us! He is all over the house now. He can reach things he couldn't before. He also lets us know when he is hungry. He smacks his lips together over and over again. He is now on the sippy cup!!! He's eating lots and lots of table food. He basically eats what we eat. He can now go from sitting to standing all by himself. Before he needed an object or wall to hold onto to get up to a standing position. Now he can stand all by himself. He still hasn't said any other words other than 'mama' and 'dada'. I swear he said 'fan' the other night while he was pointing to our ceiling fan but I'm still not positive. He still loves to clap. He also 'talks' all the time. He is just so much fun to watch and interact with! Happy 1st Birthday Jakobe!!!

I tried to get a picture of Jakobe's teeth.... this was as good as I could get. He has 2 teeth on the bottom and 3 teeth on the top. Jakobe's new thing is that he likes to crawl over us. We will lay down on the floor and Jakobe will crawl all over us. It's really cute.

Playing in the Snow!

This was Jakobe's 1st time out in the snow. It's snowed a lot this winter but it has just been too cold to take him out. We finally got a warmer day but unfortunatley Jakobe wanted nothing to do with the snow!

Someone's Walking.........

As of Saturday, January 10th, 2009. David and I officially say that Jakobe is walking! He's walking all over the place now. Everywhere! It's so exciting to see him go from taking three, four, five steps to going all over the house now! We are still in disbelief that our little Jakobe is walking. It's also exciting because he was exactly 11 1/2 months to the day when he started walking!

Peacock!

Jakobe's hair looked like a peacock when he woke up from his nap. It was hilarious!

He Can Do It!

Jakobe can walk. He's still a little wobbly at times but he has the idea. For the most part he will drop to his hands and knees and crawl to whatever it is that he wants. Every once in a while he will walk to it though. Usually between 3 and 8 steps. He's getting the idea. It won't be long before he's all over the place.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! This is what Jakobe was doing when it turned midnight. David and I went in to wish him a happy new year. I have a feeling he really didn't care too much. The sad and exciting thing is that Jakobe turns 1 this month. Oh my! It's sad because my baby is growing up so fast. It's also exciting because he's such a little man now and he is so much fun to play with and interact with. He just continues to get more fun each day. He has such a cute personality. We love him so much! Our baby is going to be 1!!!!! Wow! David.... is it time for another one yet? I'm so ready. I would have another baby in a heartbeat. Don't get any ideas quite yet people..... we're still waiting a little while! Happy 2009!
